NFL Unveils New Personalized Content App By Staff Reporter | Jan 31, 2014 02:34 PM EST With the Super Bowl just days away, the NFL has announced a new app aimed at allowing users to follow the teams and athletes theyâre interested in without having to comb through the plethora of other content put out by the League. NFL Now delivers personalized content across a range of devices, including iOS, Android, Xbox One, as well as tablets and computers.Users will be able to select their favorite teams and fantasy players and the NFL Now app will curate videos and other content personalized to their profile."We are always looking for ways to better serve our fans, and NFL Now will do just that," said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell in a press statement. "Our media strategy has been a key component in the growth and success of the NFL over the past 50 years, and we fully expect NFL Now to be a big part of that initiative in the future." The NFL says the new app reflects the consumption habits of its viewers. Namely, the League recognizes that users today enjoy content across a range of devices that includes smartphones, tablets, computers and gaming consoles. "The growth in video consumption on Internet-connected devices, whether smartphones, tablets, PCs or consoles, makes the creation of NFL Now the logical next step in the evolution of NFL Media," said NFL executive vice president of Media Brian Rolapp. "NFL Now gives us the opportunity to utilize the one-to-one digital relationship to deliver our fans the most relevant content to them at the times and on the devices where they want to consume it. Furthermore, this new digital offering provides our trusted partners and sponsors a valuable new vehicle to reach our passionate fan base."NFL Now is available for free in the iOS App Store and Google Play. A paid version of the app called NFL Now Plus is also being offered for a monthly fee with premium content and features, though itâs unclear yet precisely what those are.
