The New Digital Context at Davos 2014 focused on what societal, economic and technological forces are reshaping the digital landscape? Davos 2014 states that half a billion smartphone users today will increase to 4-5 billion in six months. 2014 will be “the year of the crossover”, according to John T. We stand at the threshold of a revolution that will transform business models, redefine the legal environment and lead to the evolution of social norms.

According to PwC, 48% of chief executive officers are concerned by the speed of technological change. We are just at the beginning of new digital context or a new ideas context expected to emerge in 2014. This year’s Davos Forum highlights the key areas such as customer demand for more bandwidth growth, cloud, mobile and sensor-driven technologies shift towards a direct and personalized relationship between customer and vendor.

Companies who optimize this one-to-one relationship with each customer in a deep and meaningful way will be market leaders.” Marc R. Benioff also stated at Davos Forum 2014,“You have to get the right information to the right device at the right time.

The convergence of disruptive technologies, Smart TVs and internet TV content distribution is still nascent. But the marketplace changes could innovate the existing standards. The democratization of video combined with technology tools that are lower-cost have influenced this transformation. The rise of digital content has also scaled the video industry.

Disruption is not only within the smartphone market. There are indication that disruption and innovation of Android is in even more areas. C-level executives growth focused significantly on innovation last year. well-defined innovation process is important to establishing a culture of innovation. Organizations today are working on new innovation models and partnerships to further cultivate innovation. The Davos Forum suggests different ways for building the “disruptive” capability into companies across all sectors.

The way in which big data scales will bring challenges towards these new and existing approaches. An entire enterprise is prone to risk. If the organization has a risk management framework in place it can help address the most critical threats. We can look at using sophisticated analytics to improve overall decision making in these areas. Cloud will become a more standard platform. The market can be demanding of the business model with timing crucial.
