BigLifts Review By Staff Reporter | Dec 31, 2013 03:29 PM EST Big Lifts Review:Around the holidays, many of us start to see our fitness goals slide as our dedication begins to dissipate. While there is usually a resurgence of motivation around New Years, with the proper apps to keep you on track, you wonât have to lost momentum over the holidays and struggle to regain it in January.Today my app of choice is BigLifts. If youâre looking to train for strength, and need an app to keep track of your progress while giving you the workout program for the day, try out this app. Two strength training programs are included: pure strength 5 x 5s, and 5/3/1 strength. All you have to do is fill in your current one-rep maxes for each of the four major compound movements (bench press, shoulder press, squat, and deadlift), then BigLifts will calculate what weight you should use every workout, what exercises you should be doing, and how to load the bar with the correct weight. Once you have completed the workout, you will add âaccessory liftsâ like barbell rows to your workout to work muscles that donât get as much attention when performing the major compound movements. BigLifts will let you know how much weight to use for your accessory lifts so that you arenât left in the dark. Having an app keep you on track can help you stay motivated for your fitness goals and keep you from skipping workouts. It can also give you the knowledge to find a workout and learn what to do in order to reach your goals this year. Unfortunately, BigLifts is not free, but it is worth the $2. Currently there is no free version available, but there is one on the App Store, so hopefully one will be added to the Play Store.Have you tried out BigLifts yet? If so, tell us what you think in the comment section below!
