Installing Android 4.3 CM10.2 ROM on HTC One X By Staff Reporter | Nov 25, 2013 05:06 PM EST If youâre not a big fan of HTCâs Sense UI, the CyanogenMod team has a custom ROM based on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean that just might be the perfect fit for your Tegra-powered handset.This guide will walk you though the installation process for CM10.2 on the HTC One X bearing the model number S5830. As always, DroidReport assumes no liability for the firmware installation. Proceed with caution.Before Getting StartedDo not use this guide for any device other than the HTC One X (S5830 model). Flashing this ROM onto any other device will most probably result in a bricked phone.You must have your HTC One X rooted, with a recovery utility like ClockworkMod installed. As always, you want to backup your device and charge it to at least 80 percent. Finally, enable USB Debugging mode by navigating to Settings -> Developer Options.Updating HTC One X to Android Jelly Bean 4.3 via CM10.2 ROM1) Download the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean CM10.2 ROM, as well as the Google Apps package, which can be found here and here. Extract the ROM package to get the âboot.imgâ file.2) Using your USB cable, connect your HTC One X to your computer.3) Copy CM10.2 custom ROM and the Google Apps package to the root folder of your handsetâs SD card. Do not extract either.4) Move the âboot.imgâ file extracted earlier to âandroid-sdk-windowsplatform-tools.â5) Restart your phone into Bootloader mode by pressing the Volume Down and Power buttons simultaneously. 6) Navigate to âandroid-sdk-windowsplatform-toolsâ and open a command prompt by holding shift, right-click and selecting âopen command prompt.â7) Type âfastboot flash boot boot.imgâ into the command prompt, followed by âfastboot reboot.â8) Follow the onscreen directions on your phone to enter Recovery mode.9) In CWM recovery, navigate to âFormat systemâ in the Mounts and Storage submenu, and then press âYes.â Next, navigate to the Advanced submenu and select âWipe Dalvik Cache.â Select âYesâ when prompted.10) Navigate to âInstall Zip from SD cardâ and select the ROM file copied earlier. Repeat the same step to install the Google Apps package.11) After the installation is complete, press âGo backâ and then select âReboot system nowâ to restart your phone. This may take some time.12) After restarting, your HTC One X will officially be running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean CM10.2 ROM. Kudos.
