Android 4.3 Jelly Bean Update: Sony Updating Xperia Phones, Tablets And Others, Find Out If Yours Is Included [REPORT]

Sony is moving quickly to upgrade the Xperia line of device following the recent release of the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS update by Google. Currently the devices that have the update are the Nexus 4, Nexus 7, Nexus 7 2, Nexus 10, Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition and HTC One Google Play Edition.

The following Sony devices are to receive Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update:

Currently, the Xperia Z and ZL in various markets are in the process of getting Android 4.2, and Sony says the Xperia ZR and Tablet Z will begin getting their 4.2 upgrades next month. Sony confirmed in a blog post on Thursday that the following devices will all see Android 4.3: Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR, Xperia Tablet Z, Xperia SP and Xperia Z Ultra.

Sony went on to suggest that some devices that are currently still at Android 4.1 could skip Android 4.2.2 and go straight to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Sony promised the following to users who were feeling impatient about Android 4.3 Jelly Bean:

Sony is moving fast, faster than most other companies in rolling out the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update to its users. Hopefully other companies will learn from Sony’s example and roll out the Android 4.3 OS update quickly.
