Huawei is said to be working on a new smartphone from its popular Mate lineup, dubbed as Mate 10. The Huawei Mate 10 will be the successor to the Mate 9 smartphone. However, latest rumors confirm the October release for the device.

A Taiwan supply chain claims that the Huawei Mate 10will sport a full-screen display like the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. It will probably have a 6-inch (2160x1080p) 18:9 full active display from JDI and will be powered by Huawei's own 10nm HiSilicon Kirin 970 processor.

The new chipset is expected to be on par with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 SoC and Samsung Exynos 8895. The Kirin 970 SoC is also said to have a composition with Cortex-A73 cores, similar to the 960 SoC which already powers the Huawei P10, as reported by BGR.

One of the interesting features which are predicted for the Huawei Mate 10is its use of 3D sensing dual camera with augmented reality features, according to GSMArena. However, it is worth mentioning that the upcoming Apple iPhone 8 is also rumored to feature a 3D sensing camera with support for augmented reality.

In the past, there have been numerous rumors regarding the Huawei Mate 10. Previous reports have pointed that the smartphone will not only having a dual camera module at the back but also on the front, which will take the total number of camera sensors to four. Such a setup will be similar to the Gionee S10 smartphone that is currently available only in China.

Other specifications for the Huawei Mate 10 include a fingerprint sensor which could be embedded into the home button. On the software front; it is possible to run the newer Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. More detail about the smartphone will be known at the launch which is, as said earlier, rumored to be in October this year.
