The latest update is coming as build number 45.0.A.5.1 for most regions, 45.0.A.5.6 for the single the SIM variant (G8141) in South Korea, and 45.0.A.5.8 for dual SIM model (G8142) in Taiwan. The first firmware update for the Sony Xperia XZ Premium includes the latest 1 June 2017 Android security patch. Build number 45.0.A.5.1 has been released a number of regions, as mentioned above, but there are also a couple of other firmware versions released concurrently with the same Android security patch, according to Xperia Blog. This includes build number 45.0.A.5.6 for the single-SIM Xperia XZ Premium (G8141) released in Korea and version number 45.0.A.5.8 for the dual SIM version (G8142) in Taiwan. No other big changes are included in the latest update for Xperia XZ Premium, as reported by GSM Arena. To recall, Sony Xperia XZ Premium is the latest flagship smartphone from Sony, and it is packed with high-end specs. This includes a 5.5-inch 4K TRILUMINOS display that pushes content at FHD by default, but it can display 4K content if needed. The Sony Xperia XZ Premium is powered by a Snapdragon 835 processor while graphics are handled by the Adreno 540 GPU. Memory-wise, it comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. For camera side, it boasts a 19-megapixel camera from Sony, assisted by OIS, RGB color sensor, and distance sensor. However, the Selfies are handled by a 13-megapixel front-facing camera. Sony Xperia XZ Premium also comes with an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance and packs a 3,230mAh battery which can be charged via the USB Type-C port located on the device. On the software side, it ships with Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box, along with Sony's own custom UI. Given that the latest update to Sony Xperia XZ Premium is an OTA roll out, it might take time for the update to hit every device. However, the user can also simply head to Settings and tap on About Phone to check manually for the update.
