AMD Radeon RX Vega Release Date Set For August By Harsh Soni h_soniji@rediffmail.com | Jun 09, 2017 04:50 AM EDT Vega is the trump card for AMD to win the GPU market this year. AMD Vega Frontier Edition card is already unveiled by AMD but it is for the professionals, not gamers. AMD VP said that the gaming targeted AMD Radeon RX Vega will be released after the Vega FE card. Now, it seems that wait for the AMD Radeon RX Vega will go on for a bit longer. According to Tech Radar, the next-gen graphic cards will possibly make an appearance after two more months. This is based on AMD's most recent statement which says that graphic chip maker will not roll out until the Special Interest Group on Computer GRAPHics and Interactive Techniques (SIGGRAPH) 2017 event. The said event will take place from July 30 until Aug. 3, which means AMD will unveil it between those dates. Moreover, AMD CEO Lisa Su also did not say that the Radeon RX Vega graphic cards will become literally available during its launch date. In the meantime, as reported by PCWorld, AMD tried to lighten things up after breaking the news by showing a very interesting video. The company showcased the dual Radeon RX Vega graphics cards paired with a Ryzen Threadripper CPU. AMD used the combination via Bethesda's first person shooter action-adventure video game, "Prey" at an impressive 4K resolution. In spite of the remarkable graphics, the demo did not have an on-screen frame counter and did not really show the cards' potential performance. However, a different report claimed that the AMD Radeon RX Vega's launching might be postponed to next year. The possibility of delaying the launch much further could mean that AMD will continue fine-tuning their product. In relation to its performance, a leaked benchmark of the AMD Radeon RX Vega revealed how powerful it is. The said benchmark video was having the graphic card running the video game "Doom," where an unknown Vega-based card is pitted against Nvidia's Titan XP and the GeForce GTX 1080. The AMD RX Vega has given an average frame rate of 142fps while the GeForce GTX Titan XP registered at 117fps and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 was posted 62fps.
